We had a board meeting today, which felt relatively grown up and mature. We had it at a nice asian restaurant, and there was food, drinks and coffee. Carl held a nice presentation, showing the progress of the company, and we discussed and voted about various details on where to go and what to do….
croon what even are you on about? what do my personal preferences on fetish/kink/whatever have to do on my stance on gender issues? fetish != gender issues so the things that i think are cute or like personally? don’t reflect my values.
I’m just saying you can’t have one thing without the other. You think the whole thing about the PG page is sexist, yet you find art of other characters in sexually compromising situations and think it’s cute. It’s incredibly hypocritical. If you’re gonna have a stance, then don’t let people be degraded at all.
Maybe I think artwork like this:
is degrading because I don’t like the way he’s being portrayed. Frank Castle is supposed to be a no holds barred bad guy killer, and having a bunch of demons fight over him is to me a horrible portrayal. This picture is as completely out of character as the Power Girl picture and was only sold as total cheesecake/fanservice. To me, there is no difference here between the two.
I’m not saying women in comics isn’t something that should be overlooked. I’m saying that you’re getting worked up over something INCREDIBLY stupid, and considering how much stuff like this gets put out each year, it’s kind of funny for you to jump on the bandwagon now.
Okay. You go make a comment towards someone. I don’t care for what, against what, or anything. Okay. After that comment, get about fifty messages from about twelve women telling you how you are horrible, and that you should die. How would you feel?
Really shitty, but when they resort to death threats you know they’re on the lowest level they could possibly be. I don’t blame you for getting upset after the fact. I’m just saying that what you started with wasn’t exactly the best way to start a debate.
